HELP! The Scale Went Up Again!

A LOT of people come to me with frustrations wanting to figure out why they can’t get their weight to budge. The first step to figuring out what to do is figuring out ACCURATELY where you are. Typically when people start working with me I require them to log their food and weight as accurately as possible for a 2-3 week period of time. Then we assess the gaps and figure out what to start with first.

If you’re wanting to figure out your true weight here’s my recommendation: -Weigh yourself a minimum of 4 times across a 7 day period. Then on the last measurement, add them together and divide by the number of days you took your weight to find the average. I also highly recommend we always weigh under the same conditions.
-First thing when you wake up
-After you’ve gone to the bathroom (even number 2)
-Before you eat or drink anything that day (aside from coffee - but I ALWAYS weigh after coffee so it’s consistent!)
-Nakey Nakey! THIS is the standard when figuring out where you’re at. Your weight can fluctuate by 2-5 pounds on average on a DAILY basis!
So the next time you’re worried because the “scale went up” since the last time you weighed yourself 30-60 days ago… think to yourself… is this true?
